Paper Abstract
The estimation of the Origin/Destination trip matrices using traffic counts is a method that efficiently combines traffic flow counts with other available information, in order to correct and improve an initial estimate of the O/D matrix.
In this paper the problem is specified for an extra-urban transit system, with reference to a network diachronic representation (scheduled-based approach); a dynamic estimator is used in order to evaluatethe temporal distribution of the daily demand, by using traffic flow counts measured on some links of the network in subsequent temporal intervals.
